Industry: Entertainment-Video Distribution
Area of Impact: Turnaround - Increase Sales and Profit Margins
Successfully turned around a 10+ year old business; tripled sales and doubled profit margins in six months, enabling a significant reduction in business debt. Designed and coached implementation of new marketing strategy, streamlined and automated sales/promotion process. Currently working with client on exit strategy, a 2-5 year plan to make business marketable for $3.5 million, which includes establishment of a brand identity in the marketplace.

Area of Impact: Expansion -Develop Management Structure
Successful 7-year old restaurant experiencing growing pains during expansion is utilizing coaching process to development management infrastructure needed to support growth. Work weekly with owner and management team to shift from micro-management by owner to developing a team of professional managers in-house. Second location recently opened during this process. Goal is to open two more stores locally before regional expansion and possible franchising. Support owner in taking directed and appropriate action to shift from sole proprietor lifestyle based business to professionally managed corporation.

Implemented a three- phase project designed to impact the leadership of a large company in the aerospace industry over the course of three years. The company's goals are to shift the organization from the hierarchical line production model to a process-oriented empowered team approach, and to double company revenue within 5 years. Phase I began with a leadership development program for 40 senior level executives. The program emphasized performance improvement in basic management competencies, and included the introduction of coaching as a management practice into the environment. Phase II continued the change process with a group of 60 managers, supervisors and lead technicians. Phase III, the Masterful Coaching Program had successful graduates of the previous phases begin a process of breakthrough project management, building on skills developed in the previous phases. Participants were specifically trained as managerial coaches and in breakthrough project management and completed a six month project. Projects resulted in over $1M in increased profit margins or reduced costs.

Area of Impact: Management Development/Cross-Cultural Communication
Designed and successfully delivered a competency-based supervisory/management development program for a scientific research and product development firm. A 15-week program for the management team of 20 individuals was implemented. The objective was to develop and standardize management practices based on a results-oriented team approach. Challenges faced by the management team included the necessity to align on an overall management paradigm due to the extreme diversity of both the management team and the workforce. The team included members from the U.S., Mexico, the former Soviet Union and Eastern block countries, Europe and Asia.

Catherine has been leading organizational development programs and coaching business professionals since 1986. She has been both a business owner and a partner in successful entrepreneurial ventures. During her 18- year corporate career, Ms. Vigil was an executive level manager in the financial industry. She is experienced in all phases of the development and administration of corporate training including needs analysis, course design and delivery, evaluation of effectiveness of programs, return on investment analysis, budget administration, and education and skills database management.
She has over 30,000+ hours of experience training and coaching professionals, managers and small business owners who have reported significant benefits in the areas of profitability, personal effectiveness and quality of life.

Catherine Vigil is President and owner of INNOVATE Performance Management Consulting, which she founded in 1997. In her work with her clients she is committed to causing breakthrough results through the application of innovative organizational perspectives, effective learning programs and coaching of key individuals. Catherine brings a background of over 25 years of education and experience in the fields of business management, organizational development and human performance improvement to her professional practice.
Her educational background includes course work in anthropology, economics and business management. Catherine received her coach training from Coach University in the early 90's. In May of 2000 she graduated from the Interfaith Theological Seminary with a degree in ministry, after completing a rigorous two-year program. The curriculum included in-depth studies of the theology of all spiritual traditions, and extensive training in pastoral counseling. She is an ordained Interfaith Contemplative Minister. This background enables her to bring a unique holistic perspective to her coaching and consulting work.
Catherine has lived in the Tucson community since 1985 and is an active member of the business community. She enjoyed a brief stint in the real estate business during the mid-eighties boom when she first moved to Tucson, working for Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate. She joined the pioneering staff of National Bank of Arizona , where she was an executive level manager until a merger/acquisition gave her the opportunity to start her own coaching and consulting practice in 1995.
Active in professional organizations, Catherine is a past president of the American Society for Training and Development/Old Pueblo Chapter, and has received the Chapter Award of Excellence for service. She is a member of the local chapter of the International Coach Federation and the Tucson Chamber of Commerce, where she is active on the Business Development Committee. Catherine is an adjunct faculty member at Pima Community College, where she teaches classes in supervision and organizational behavior when called upon.
